Register your baby or infant for a crèche of the Public Employment Service

You can submit applications for enrollment and re-enrollment of infants and toddlers at the 28 Daycare Centers of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) for the 2026–2027 school year.

Eligible applicants are the parent, parents, or legal guardians (foster parents, custodians, etc.) of eligible children who are:

  • employees in a private-law employment relationship at the time the application deadline expires,
  • insured with e-EFKA due to an employment relationship, with contributions made to the unemployment branch of the Public Employment Service (D.Y.P.A.), at any time during the 12 full months preceding the deadline for submitting applications;
  • unemployed persons registered, in accordance with the applicable legal framework, in the Digital Registry of Job Seekers of the D.Y.P.A., with a continuous period of unemployment of at least three (3) months as of the deadline for submitting applications.
  • recipients of unemployment benefits who are self-employed or independently employed and insured (former OAEE, former ETAP–MME, former ETAA).

You will need your personal Taxisnet credentials.

The application period begins on Friday, July 3, at 6:00 p.m. and ends on Monday, July 13, at 11:59 p.m.

After the application procedure has been completed, a provisional list of selected babies and infants will be posted. The beneficiaries may submit objections.

Privately owned DYPA nurseries operate from 1 September to 31 July, from 6:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and are intended to host babies and infants, aged from 6 months to 4 years old.

A daily programme of creative activities is being implemented aiming at the children's harmonious psychosomatic and educational development. The selection criteria are financial (priority is given to children with low-income parents) and social (children of large families, orphans, children of single-parent families, children of disabled parents, etc.).

In Attica, the Municipalities of Acharnon, Aghia Varvara, Ano Liosia, Elefsina, Keratsini, Moschatos, Olympic Village, Peristeri and Haidario operate VNS, while in the rest of Greece they operate in the cities of Agrinio, Arta, Drama, Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Kavala, Kalamata, Karditsa, Karpennisi, Komotini, Messolonghi, Naoussa, Xanthi, Patras, Pylaia, Thessaloniki, Serres and Trikala. The Larissa Daycare Center, which suffered significant damage from Hurricane Daniel, is expected to reopen in the near future.
