You can request exemption from conscription if you have been irrevocably sentenced by any criminal court to imprisonment and the crime for which you have been convicted has not been amnestied, pardoned or statute barring has occurred with the consequences of the conviction lifted.

When to apply:

• If you are a conscript: From call-up to the date you join the Armed Forces. If submitted later the exemption is granted if you had the conditions on the enlistment date
• If you are a Private Soldier: Anytime after your rank
• If you are a deserter: After stopping your desertion.
