You can ask for your exemption from the obligation of conscription, if you are a monk who monks in a Monastery of Mount Athos or in the Monastery of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem or in the Monastery of Saint Catherine of Mount Sinai.

When to apply:

• If you are a conscript: From call-up to the date you join the Armed Forces. If it is submitted later, the exemption is granted if you were eligible on the enlistment date.
• If you are a Private Soldier: Anytime after your rank
• If you are a draft evader-deserter: After stopping your insubordination or desertion
