Postponement of military service as a UN official

You can request the postponement of your military service in the Armed Forces, if you are legally outside the ranks of the Armed Forces and on the date you are required to rank you work either:

1. at the United Nations (UN), in the capacity of the Secretary-General, Assistant Secretary-General or official;

2. to a specialised agency in the capacity of its executive head and deputy, the official.

  • your Ranking Note
The application is submitted from the issuance of the invitation order until the enlistment date to the Armed Forces. If submitted later, the deferral is granted if the conditions existed at the enlistment date.
