Parents and carers of infants and young children can apply to participate in the Neighborhood Babysitters action. The aim of the action is to reconcile family and professional life of parents working or seeking work. It provides for the financing of part of the fee of the integrated curator in the action register.

The eligibility requirements are:

  • You must be employed or unemployed and registered with the Public Employment Service (DYPA) or an active student.
  • You must have a minor child between two (2) months and two (2) years and six (6) months of age.
  • Your most recent annual taxable income must not exceed: a) €24,000 for 1 child, b) €27,000 for 2 children.
  • There are no income criteria for three or more children.
  • You must not be on maternity leave, paternity leave, child-rearing leave, parental leave, or special maternity protection leave, nor have you interrupted or suspended your professional activity for the purpose of caring for an infant or toddler for whom you are applying for the “Placement Allowance.

You will need your personal Taxisnet credentials (after registering in the National Communication Register (EMEP) to confirm your mobile phone number).

If you have more than one child, you must submit a separate application for each child.

If your application is approved, you will be notified by email at the address you provided in the National Contact Registry.

Once approved, you will gain access to the profiles of available caregivers serving your area. You will be able to contact them and arrange your collaboration.
