You can get a certificate of next of kin of a deceased person, if you were a next of kin on the day of death. The certificate is issued once and is kept in the records of the Municipality where the deceased was a registered citizen. You then get copies of this certificate.

Initial issue

You can have the certificate issued for the first time by the Municipality where the deceased was a registered citizen. Select "Application to a Municipality".

You will need:

• your personal Taxisnet credentials
• the details of the deceased person

The certificate will be sent to your Inbox at a later date, and you will be notified by e-mail and sms.

Instant electronic copies
You can issue a copy of a certificate of next of kin issued after 16.04.2020, if you are the closest relative of the deceased person.

The copy you will issue electronically bears a unique verification code and an advanced electronic stamp and is mandatorily accepted by all public and private sector bodies.
