Get financial aid for people with disabilities - Accessibility at home

Individuals with motor or sensory (visual or hearing) disabilities and a total disability rating of at least 67% can apply for a grant to improve accessibility in your home and/or workplace.

Eligibility requirements for beneficiaries

  • you must be a person with a disability (67% or more) with a motor, visual, or hearing impairment.
  • you must be a permanent resident of Greece (not a tax resident abroad).
  • your annual personal income must not exceed €60,000 (2024 settlement)

Eligible program expenses:

  • construction work (e.g., bathroom renovation, door widening, reduction of echoes), installation of lifts and ramps, automation, special accessibility equipment (e.g., audible and visual signals, alternative digital equipment)
  • engineer's fee (up to €450 for mobility, €250 for sensory disability, including VAT)

Property eligibility:

  • it must be legal or have been regularized in accordance with the laws on unauthorized buildings
  • it must not have been classified as dangerous or demolishable
  • it must be used as the beneficiary's main residence (regardless of ownership), privately owned secondary residence, or privately owned professional premises (which must be declared as the beneficiary's tax domicile)
