You can apply for financial aid up to €10,000 if you transfer the principal place of residence and the centre of your living activities to specific areas of Evros, as part of the Demographic Development Program.

The aid concerns natural persons and families who settle permanently in the municipalities of Soufli, Didymoteicho and Orestiada and meet specific conditions.

Beneficiaries:

Beneficiaries - Beneficiary Units of the financial support are defined as the following categories:

• single-person households, consisting of an adult Greek citizen who is unmarried or widowed or divorced or separated, submit an individual tax return and does not fall into the category of adults up to twenty-five (25) years old attending education facilities of any level in the municipalities of relocation
• multi-person households, consisting of natural persons living under the same roof and consisting of either (1) a person submitting a tax return and one (1) or more children or a married couple or a couple who has entered into a registered partnership, with or without children, submitting a tax return. In this case, the applicant is a member of the household, an adult Greek citizen who submits an individual tax return.

Conditions:

• have filed a tax return in the last 3 years
• transfer their principal place of residence to Evros from 1.1.2025 onwards
• work or participate in a Public Employment Service (DYPA) programme in the area
• have resided for the last 3 years in an area outside Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Western Macedonia and the Aegean
• and, if there are minor children, they attend local schools or are registered with an insurance institution or the Public Employment Service (DYPA)

Municipalities of relocation:

• Municipality of Soufli (Municipal Units of Orfea, Soufli, Tychero) up to 226 beneficiary units
• Municipality of Didymoteicho (municipal units of Didymoteicho, Metaxades) up to 293 beneficiary units
• Municipality of Orestiada (Municipal Units of Orestiada, Vyssa, Trigono, Kyprinos) up to 481 beneficiary units

Amount of aid:

• 10,000 € for installation in a settlement of up to 500 inhabitants
• 6,000 € for installation in a settlement of more than 500 inhabitants
• A surcharge of €1,000 for each minor child (up to a limit of €10,000)

The aid shall be paid in two equal instalments: the first with the approval of the application and the second after one year of permanent residence.

• your marital status
• attach the necessary supporting documents

After completing the check of the supporting documents and confirming their completeness, the application enters a state of pre-approval and you are informed by e-mail or by text message (sms).

The pre-approval shall also be notified to the competent municipality of relocation for the initiation of the autopsy procedure within 15 days. Upon completion of the autopsy and if the result is a confirmation of the relocation, your application is finally approved.

The programme shall be valid until 31 December 2028 or until all available posts are exhausted.
